Welcome to my site!

My name is Thomas F. Roeser. I have been creating and exhibiting oil paintings in the Chicago area for the past twenty years. The main focus of my art is the depiction of Chicago area buildings and streetscapes, The scenes that I paint are not of noted landmarks but are renderings of overlooked structures that reflect the passage of time. Many of these buildings have undergone several incarnations. Some of them are still in use and others are in a state of neglect. I like to depict the underlying beauty of these structures and the stories they tell through their interaction with time and the neighboring population.
